Abstract:

We felt that in our clinical experiences throughout the elementary schools in Glynn County there was an overall absence of education regarding emergency situations specifically, home fires. We were able to partner with the Brunswick Fire Department to educate a group of local students about the dangers, prevalence, and preventative measures for home fires. We were able to integrate our research of best ways to educate elementary school kids into our games. We were able to use the information about how to relate to kids that age from Ms. Temple’s lessons. Our research revealed to us the most prevalent causes of fires so that we were able to accurately inform the students.
