Abstract:
The service-learning group arranged with the teacher to visit the classroom of 4-5 year olds at the FACES Pre Kindergarten Center. We observed the children during their time of play and with collaboration with the teacher it was decided to focus our teaching on Nutrition.
To keep the children’s attention the group decided to have three stations. The first station would involve the children learning about different food categories and placing the foods on the correct category on a felt board. The second station would involve reading a book (put the title of the book) to the children. The book is about a goat who enjoys eating healthy foods among others who don't. The third station would involve a coloring sheet with different healthy food options the children could identify and color.
