Mary Lee Clark Elementary School – Camden County Schools

Nurse Johnston has been a School Nurse with Camden County Schools for five years, after being a nurse in a healthcare facility for many years. She currently works with students and faculty at Mary Lee Clark Elementary. She enjoys spending time with her family, including 7-year-old twin girls and an 11-year-old boy, and playing the piano.

“We really do enjoy having the students come every year.  Their enthusiasm is contagious, and I am always amazed at the amount of effort and detail that they put into their presentations. I can also tell that they have a great relationship with Dr. Hatchel.”

- Nurse Johnston

"Nurse Johnston has been instrumental in helping me develop projects that help her meet goals, but also allow my students to research microbiology topics in greater depth and enhance their learning. She has also worked with me, the administrators, and the teachers at the school to schedule a date for my students to come and do their presentations. She is a wonderful partner to have, and I look forward to working with her again in the future.

I have done this project two years in a row (Fall 2018 and Fall 2019) with Nurse Johnston and Mary Lee Clark Elementary School. Both experiences have been wonderful for myself and my students. We have spent time teaching younger children about microbiology topics, and it is neat to interact with them."
