Professor Tara Mosher has been teaching service-learning courses in the Associate of Science in Nursing program since spring 2017. Through her Nursing 3 and Nursing 4 course, she has reached over 300 nursing students and many community partner agencies. Most recently, Professor Mosher and her students collaborated with the Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation to decorate bras and provide education for a breast cancer awareness and fundraiser event.

“Tara has taken the leadership role in developing our service-learning project for Nursing 2111.   For the last several years, Tara has taken the initiative and has organized and collaborated with the Southeast Georgia Foundation to provide education about breast cancer awareness through education.  This semester due to COVID-19, she came up with some creative ways to help distribute the students' pamphlets/posters they created about breast cancer education by distributing them to Health Care Provider offices as well as Mariner Fest. She is very passionate about breast cancer education and awareness and wants to make sure that people are made more aware of this disease that can have good outcomes if discovered and treated early.”
