One of the first officially recognized service-learning courses at the College was taught by Dr. Elizabeth Wurz in spring 2011. Since then, she has gone on to incorporate service-learning into ten course sections. Dr. Wurz went on to be one of the first recipients of the College's Excellence in Service-Learning Awards as an Outstanding Faculty member in 2013. From 2014-15, Dr. Wurz served as the Director of Service-Learning.

"The contribution of Dr. Elizabeth Wurz to the College's service-learning program is irreplaceable. Her passion for helping students and promoting research, especially in the scholarship of teaching and learning, has helped bring the service-learning program to new heights."
