In her role as a Professor of Chemistry, Dr. Wallace began teaching service-learning courses in the summer of 2014. Her annual CHEM 1101 Cook-Off, in partnership with America's Second Harvest (ASH) of Coastal Georgia, is a fan-favorite because of both the impact the project has on raising canned goods and funds for ASH and the delicious recipes her student create for faculty and staff to taste. In her role as Dean of the School of Arts & Sciences, Dr. Wallace supports faculty development of service-learning courses, projects, and partnerships.

“I have enjoyed working with Andrea the last several years. She is concerned about food insecurity in Coastal Georgia and making her students aware of how they can help. The cooking contest has been a huge success and hope we can do it again soon. Thank you the entire staff for helping us help others. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with College of Coastal Georgia.”
