The Blueprint Project: Piloting the Volunteer Program

Abstract:
For our service-learning project for our Introduction to Human Services class in fall of 2014, we teamed up with United Way of Coastal Georgia to assist them in pilot testing the volunteer process for the High School Blueprint Project. Our mission was to complete to various steps involved in becoming a volunteer, and to evaluate the process in order to provide detailed feedback about the ease and difficulty of each step. We so enjoyed the process that we continued the partnership with United Way of Coastal Georgia through our Senior Capstone Practicum course. We went on to become tutors for the Blueprint project and to provide informational sessions on the Blueprint initiative for various local organizations such as the Rotary Club.
