Hospice of the Golden Isles Lights of Love Event

Abstract:
For our service-learning project in our Introduction to Human Services class, we partnered with Hospice of the Golden Isles. After meeting with the team at Hospice and identifying their needs, we made the main goal of our projects to raise awareness in the community of the services Hospice provides. We decided to host events in the community where we could talk to others about Hospice in an effort to raise both visibility and knowledge of services. We sponsored a booth at the Glynn Place Mall where we distributed informational packets containing pamphlets and other instructional materials that we designed. Our goal was to communicate how helpful Hospice of the Golden Isles can be when dealing with end-of-life issues. We also helped with the production of their Lights of Love Remembrance Event. This annual event precedes the lighting of the campus for the holiday season.
