Abstract:
Students in the CCGA Radiologic Science (RS) Program participate in service-learning through sustained educational experiences in the clinical domain as well as community service. In addition to providing real-world application of classroom theory, clinical education allows students to interact and assist patients from our local communities. Our students represent a learning community that provides our clinical affiliates with service hours in exchange for educational experience. Senior RS student’s guide and mentor members of the junior cohort. The RS Student Club moves beyond the classroom to extend the philosophy of service-learning through regular practice of benevolent activities. The act of giving to the profession, our fellow peers, our educational partners, members of our community, and our diagnostic imaging patients is a complementary process of personal and educational growth and elevation.
