Abstract:
For my project, I correlated Domestic Violence with the piece of literature, “Poof,” and what we learned about literature analysis in class. I also used composition skills to make flyers to help survivors of domestic violence and combat stigma. I held an event called “Cupcakes for Awareness”, where I handed out cupcakes, to grab an audience, gave away bookmarks, and explained the importance getting help and giving others help who need it. My community partner was Glynn Community Crisis Center. They work to help survivors of domestic violence or abuse. The impact this project had on me was very informative. It helped me to draw a connection with my actual class work and taught me how to tie real world experiences with writing literature.
