Abstract:

My project is based on raising awareness of invisible and visible disabilities using the techniques of building a research project and constructing textual evidence to provide information. Some disabilities are visible and some aren't. My partner and I plan to attend the disability prom on campus to support that people with disabilities are just like everyone else. We plan to express this through flyers to raise awareness. The word disability is defined in many ways but we plan to redefine the word to be more comfortable to discuss in our community using our composition skills. Using poems that were assigned along with this project, we received the proper knowledge that this is a problem that needs to be exposed to the student body. Some people aren't able to receive help with their disability because of finances and we plan to incorporate this topic into the discussion of awareness. Research using scholarly articles is incorporated into how we plan to present this project. Different views and facts about disabilities will be used to construct a meaningful discussion about disabilities and life changes of being disabled.
