Abstract:

Our service-learning project focuses on the health needs of individuals ranging in ages from 18 and older that work 12-hour shifts. However, the information presented is useful to individuals of all backgrounds regardless of their schedule. We found that individuals that work these long hours are predisposed to obesity, heart disease, and gastrointestinal issues. We will discuss common health issues in this community and tips to overcome these issues. Also, we will provide examples of healthy snacking and a brochure of the presented information.
