Chemistry with Kids: Students Become the Teachers

Abstract:

Students at CCGA worked with children from the Terrill Thomas Boys & Girls Club in ages ranging from 5-12 over the course of a few weeks to show and teach them simple chemistry in fun and engaging activities. This project allowed the students to give back to the community in a creative way while the kids were engaged in scientific activities. The project provided the students experience in civic learning, academic enhancement, and personal growth. This project has opened doorways to allow CCGA to work with a variety of communities to teach children the joys of science.
