Title: The Annotation of Reverse-Gene 47 in Persistence
Presenters: Allison M. Bradley
Faculty Supervisor: Dr. Holly Nance
Abstract: Through the SEA-PHAGES lab research course, the bacteriophage Persistence, was discovered, isolated and later sequenced. Through our genomic analysis of Persistence, we determined that it is 50433 base pairs (bp) in length and has 98 genes. After the genome was analyzed with Gene-by-Gene refinement, Reverse-Gene 47 appears to have a questionable start and function that called for further attention. The start was not changed and the function was determined as metalloprotease.
