Lightboard: Guide

Note: The setup for some of the One Button Studio equipment featured on some sites and in videos in this guide might be different from the setup at Gould Library. Ask a librarian if you need help.

The Revolution Lightboard is in the Presentation Practice Room at Gould Library, a space that includes the One Button Studio+. It is a transparent and illuminated writing board that lets presenters have the feel of using a traditional whiteboard while facing the audience and maintaining eye contact. It is used with the One Button Studio+ to create recorded presentation videos.

Here's how to get started:

  1. Reserve the Presentation Practice Room.  (You will receive a confirmation email.)
  2. Move the Revolution Lightboard so that it is in front of the camera. Turn it on and use one of the pens to practice writing (and make sure the pen works).
  3. Once the lightboard is in place and you're all set, turn off the lights in the room and go to the One Button Studio+ console and insert your thumb drive. (Your thumb drive should be at least 2GB. You may need more storage space for longer recordings.)
  4. Press the RED button to start recording. There will be a 5-second delay, so wait before you begin your presentation. (Any pauses can be edited afterward).
  5. Press the start/stop RED button when you are done.
  6. Remove your thumb drive.
