ILL FAQs

Who may borrow materials using ILL?

College of Coastal Georgia students, faculty, and staff may use the ILL service.

What can I borrow?

Books, scanned book chapters, and journal articles may be requested. The library at the College of Coastal Georgia reserves the right to refuse to accept a request if, in its judgment, fulfillment would violate copyright law.

How much does it cost for ILL?

The majority of items requested through ILL are free. However, if the item cannot be obtained for free, the ILL librarian will let you know your options.

How do I submit an ILL request?

Before you submit a request, check online to see if the item you need is available for free. GALILEO includes links to an ILL form on the record pages of books and articles. There are links to two online forms on this page (see above). One link is for books and book chapters and the other is for journal articles. The links are also on the library's homepage under the "Services" dropdown menu. Include as much information as possible, and use your Coastal email address.

How long does it take to receive my requested items?

Fulfilling a request may take at least 5-7 days.

How do I check the status of my request?

Please wait at least five days before checking the status of your request. Contact Karen Haven, librarian, at khaven@ccga.edu or (912) 279-5784.

How long can I keep ILL books?

Due dates vary because they are set by the lending institution.

What is the renewal policy if I need to keep an item longer?

Before the due date, contact the ILL librarian, Karen Haven, at khaven@ccga.edu or (912) 279-5784, if you need to keep an item longer.

Who is the contact person for questions about ILL?

Contact Karen Haven, librarian, at khaven@ccga.edu or (912) 279-5784.
