College Success Resources

Evaluating Sources

Much of what you learn in the classroom can be applied to your everyday life. It might not be so obvious now, but later, you'll look back and realize you've accumulated many life skills from attending college.

Research papers are one example. Your professors will require you to take a stand, and support that stand with careful research using credible sources, verifiable information and reliable, current data.

The ability to be critical and to evaluate all of the information available to you will be crucial to your career as a student, and that skill will also be useful to you when you're buying a car or a computer, deciding which doctor you want to see or which political candidate you want to support.
