What is Coastal Georgia Reads?

The Big Read: Coastal Georgia Reads is a two-month-long literary and arts celebration for the community, presented by Golden Isles Arts and Humanities and Marshes of Glynn Libraries

The community reads one book and comes together for a variety of events including book talks, films, lectures, and other programming reflecting the themes of the book.

The community read for 2025 is The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. The Middle/High Read is The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. The Middle Read is The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart, and the Little Read is The Bad Guys by Aaron Blabey.

Free copies are available at Gould Library at College of Coastal Georgia, the Historic Ritz Theater in Brunswick, and at Marshes of Glynn Libraries.

Keynote Speaker

Wanda M. Morris - Books, Biography, and Author Information | African  American Literature Book Club

Mystery writer Wanda Morris is the keynote speaker for this year's Coastal Georgia Reads. Her latest novel, What You Leave Behind, is set in Brunswick, Georgia. The keynote event is 7 pm, Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the Ritz Theatre in Historic Downtown Brunswick.
