Researching Art and Art History: Introduction

This guide is intended to help students research topics in art and art history and to introduce a wide variety of library and online resources. Art research intersects other subjects such as geography, anthropology, history, and mass media.

Navigate through the pages that highlight some of the resources that might be helpful to you, including reference encyclopedias and dictionaries, books, journals, and research databases, and web resources. Use the Image Resources tab to find links to online sources for images.

This Research Guide was inspired by and borrows some material from the guide Art and Art History, curated by Claire Dannenbaum and Dan Macnaughtan at Lane Community College Library in Eugene, Ore. Thank you!
