TinkerCAD

TinkerCAD is a good place to start if you've never worked with 3D modeling software before because it's designed for kids. It's free and operates on an online platform so that you can access it from any computer. It's also created by Autodesk, one of the leading CAD software designers in the industry, so the TinkerCAD software is still fairly robust. TinkerCAD has tutorials for anybody who signs up for a free account as well so that you can get accustomed to it.
