In the first lesson, the different forms of English measurement are discussed and displayed as they would appear on a ruler. The viewer also learns how to understand fractions when measuring and how to find exact measurements using a ruler. The second lesson deals with the metric system by introducing the meter and other metric measurements. Even the trajectories of streams of water from a fountain can be analyzed with the help of quadratics! In this program, internationally acclaimed mathematics educator Dr. Monica Neagoy uses the TI-Nspire graphing calculator to explore the nature of quadratic functions. Concepts studied in the video include quadratic functions and equations, standard form, graphing quadratic equations, and solving quadratic equations graphically.
