Abstract:

This poster will present a service-learning project done in partnership with Glynn Environmental Coalition (GEC) and their executive director, Rachael Thompson. Completed to fulfill class requirements for Program Development and Grant Writing (PSYC 4510), we will apply concepts learned earlier in the semester to conduct a problem analysis and assess community needs. We plan to research public education and outreach tactics used by other, similar programs and examine what is applicable or useful to further develop GEC’s Air Quality Campaign. By suggesting ways to effectively promote public knowledge and awareness around this issue, we can help build the organization’s capacity to assist the public with finding answers to an ongoing problem and to seek longer-term solutions to this problem.
