Abstract:

Our community health project focused on bringing awareness of the local sex trafficking issues to the students of the College of Coastal Georgia and to get donations for the street outreach bags that our community partners take out to victims and those at risk of being trafficked. We worked in unison with our community partners, Faithful Love to hand out materials and explain the wide scope that encompasses sex trafficking, who is most at risk, and how to prevent yourself and others from becoming a victim of sex trafficking. The donations that Faithful Love uses to create the outreach bags helps them form connections to those that may be sex trafficked in the community and let’s them know that there are resources to help them escape that situation if and when they are able. Our hope is that we taught the community as much as we have learned ourselves.
