Reading with BME Tigers

Abstract:
During the month of March, I visited Burroughs Mollett Boys and Girls club every Thursday for four weeks. I worked closely with a student developing reading and writing skills in a Reader’s Notebook. Each day my student and I would take the time to read a book (of her choosing) and record observations, ideas, feelings, etc. By using the Universal Design for Learning I was able to proactively meet the needs of my student. My goal was to ultimately help my student become an avid reader and expert learner. I wanted to provide my student with an opportunity to express herself though Reader’s Notebook study.
