Abstract:
This Service-Learning Project was an opportunity for future educators to get time in the field volunteering and expanding their learning. This helped us to experience student learning outside of a school environment. We learned about classroom management, research based instructional strategies, and literature instruction all while being able to implement them in this after-school setting. As future educators, this was a beneficial learning experience for both the teacher candidates and the students.
