Abstract:

For my project I worked with a non-profit homeless shelter called The Well. It is a part of the Faith Works Ministries organization. While working with The Well I helped the director Mrs. Sparre gather any supplies that she needed me to get for that week or day. As well as help with the transportation of physical donations that were given to The Well. However, my primary focus was to be a I.T. technician for their network and security system. The project opened my eyes to a different environment. Their are so many horrible people that are well off, but make the world a worse place. Then there are the individuals that go to The Well that have clearly had hardships in their lives, but they are amazing people! The Well helps out the community by trying to reduce the percentage of homeless individuals in the area. Dr. Farris has provided this course with so much material and opportunities for me to get a deeper look into poverty. I think a job fair for the homeless would be amazing!
