Even before teaching her first service-learning course in spring 2013, Dr. Sharpe was collaborating with GIAHC to promote The Big Read book. She has presented this sustained project at the 2017 Gulf South Summit for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement through Higher Education and currently sits on the College’s Service-Learning Advisory Committee.

“Rebecca’s dedication to service-learning has been evident since I’ve known her.  Her work with her English students on the community Big Read has been an essential part of the vibrancy of the project and the scope of the community’s awareness of this event.”
