The Center for Service-Learning invites you to explore presentation and news archives which highlight the wonderful work our faculty and students are doing in collaboration with our community partner agencies.

This archive is meant to highlight the work of our service-learning faculty, students, and community partner agencies. It is our sincere hope that the presentations and articles inside encourage viewers to brainstorm service-learning course projects which can continue to positively impact the Golden Isles and surrounding counties in the state of Georgia and beyond.

Service-learning is a teaching and learning method that utilizes a combination of academic course content and relevant service with community agencies. The classroom learning for students is augmented with service activities that are intended to provide exposure to and enhanced understanding of course concepts and theories. Service activities are negotiated between the faculty member teaching the course, the community organization, and the students so that the service equally benefits student learning and a community need.
