God's Little Children Program- Christian Renewal SSI

Abstract:
At God's Little Children Program we engaged with children through activities that promoted global and self-awareness. We selected materials such as arts and crafts and reading books to influence and expand the children's cultural awareness. Working with the community partner at St. Simons Christian Renewal, we were able to prepare lessons and give our creativity in arts and crafts and help children with their lessons. We learned from the children’s self-awareness and watched them grow in their knowledge when engaging with others. This service learning experience expanded our knowledge of our Infant and Child class and helped us experience first-hand Piaget and Vygotsky theories.
