Explorations in Geometry and Measurement

Abstract:
For the Explorations in Geometry and Measurement course, teacher candidates had the opportunity to go into the classrooms of Altama Elementary and teach geometric concepts to students in fun and innovative ways. This service-learning project was a two-fold project. First, teacher candidates created an engaging lesson plan utilizing the Georgia Standards of Excellence grades K-3. Their lessons focused on one standard from an assigned grade level (K-3). Second, students wrote and created books that focused specifically on their selected standards. The books were read to students during the implementation of their lessons.
