Professor LeCounte was hired at the College of Coastal Georgia while service-learning (S-L) was starting to be implemented into the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) courses. That did not stop her from jumping right in to help develop ideas for effective projects. S-L projects that Professor LeCounte has implemented include maternity education for prenatal nutrition and newborn care at the local mall, and she and her ASN students collaborated with Professor Masano's students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program to provide prenatal education to pregnant women in Savannah. Professor LeCounte’s interest and involvement in S-L has greatly helped the community and the nursing students at Coastal Georgia.
