Roosevelt Lawrence Community Center: Service-Learning Partners Spring 2019

Abstract:
Windsward of Georgia's goal is to reach the communities that have the most need in giving them the support from an educational framework. Windsward is working toward being that bridge working with the schools and parents, giving that extra support for working families and busy school districts. The passion to support the Roosevelt Lawrence Community Center afterschool education program, we focus on enhancing a student's education outcomes in their formative years in efforts to foster educated and productive individuals. Partnering with Dr. Courtenay Miller and the College of Coastal Georgia's service-learning program furthers the enhancement of our goal one student at a time. We started with homework support to the Roosevelt Lawrence Community Center's afterschool program and evolved to a partnership with the College of Coastal Georgia's faculty and students. We hope for the afterschool students' progress and seek additional partnerships that will support us in making a difference in Georgia.
