Abstract:

Faithful love is an organization that provides physical and mental aid to those who are victims of human trafficking. Our group worked with the organization to not only raise awareness, but also to help the victims by creating hygiene bags. These bags included basic hygiene items such as shampoo, conditioner, tampons, etc., and even included a motivational message to empower the women. We also provided education to the students at the college by passing out information about human trafficking. Many students were stunned that human trafficking is a major problem, and very prevalent in Brunswick. Before beginning this project, our group was also not aware of how prevalent human trafficking is in our country and especially in Southeast Georgia. Once we did some research on the topic our goal was to help these victims who have gone through so much while also bringing attention to trafficking. Our group hopes that once more people are aware of this issue; more resources will be obtainable to help and prevent human trafficking. In the future hopefully the community will have more ways to identify and help victims such as screenings and increased access to services.
